Description |
An example of the Rookwood Pottery Company's (1880-1967) late Decorated Mat / Double Vellum line, this vase, shape number S2136, features beautifully slip-decorated dogwood blossoms on porcelain body painted by Kataro Shirayamadani (1865-1948). The "S" preceding the shape number likley indicates that this piece was created from a sketch with a corresponding number and / or was made for a special exhibition. |
