There is tension and tranquility in this large-scale, contemporary, industrial landscape by Ohio-based artist Ron Kroutel. The artist's color palette and soft tonal variations set off a dense, surreal, and unsettling scene in which homes and industrial architecture reside among nature. Kroutel was the Chairperson of Painting and Drawing at Ohio University, in Athens, Ohio, from 1966 until he retired in 2016. This painting was a gift from the artist. |
