Description |
British wit Oscar Wilde, who travled throughout the US in 1882, promoted the role regional deisgn schools could play in the development of a national style. This scene depicts a typical life study class at the Cincinatti Art Students' League, one among many schools that flourished in the midwest at the turn of the last century. Another program was the ceramic engineering program at the Ohio State University in 1894. |
