Description |
This vase was manufactured by Weller Pottery Company (1872-1948) around 1897. Although Weller did not officially name this line, it is commonly referred to as Athens. Featuring mythological medallions with figures, chariots, seahorses, seashells, and a dragon, which are highlighted by a subtle, green oxide wash against an unglazed ceramic body, this vase has an unusually coarse texture. |
