Description |
John "Jack" J. Masson, Jr. (1933-Present) is known for his functional stoneware pieces, although he produced sculptures early on in his career. He received his BA in industrial arts from Oswego State University in New York and his MFA from the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. He served in the United States Air Force, taught at the high school and college levels, before turning to studio pottery full time in the 1965 when he purchased a farm in western Massachusetts, where he set up his studio. |
