Ralston Thompson (1904-1975) was an Ohio-based abstract artist who studied painting in the Midwest at the Dayton Art Institute, the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, and the Ohio State University. A prolific artist and an influential instructor, Thompson taught at Ohio State and at Wittenberg University for most of his career and exhibited widely. In 1977, the Zanesville Museum of Art received a collection of Thompson's work from his widow, Edith Lohrman Thompson. |
