Description |
J.W. McCoy (1848-1914) established the J.W. McCoy Pottery Company (1899-1910) in 1899 in Roseville, Ohio after working in the pottery and dry goods industries for several years. The company mainly produced utilitarian stoneware but after the turn of the century introduced several lines of art pottery. In 1911, the J.W. McCoy Pottery Company merged with the enterprises of George Brush and became the Brush-McCoy Pottery Company. This piece is an example of the Loy-Nel-Art line named after J.W. McCoy's three sons, Lloyd, Nelson, and Arthur. |
