Description |
An example from Weller Pottery Company's Dickens Ware II line introduced in 1900, this large vase was made that same year and features an intricately hand-incised image of French courtiers in a salon. This scene is likely a representation of an unidentified painting. The Dickens Ware line was designed by Charles Babcock Upjohn (1866-1953) and features scenes with a variety of characters, many of whom are drawn from stories by Charles Dickens (1812-1870). |
