Description |
An example from J. B. Owens Pottery Company's Onyx line introduced in 1898, this striated late-Victorian style pedestal features a highly decorative surface that includes a cherub ensconced in a shell border. A November 1901 trade publication described the line as resembling "tiger-eye ware" and stated "Like all the other products of this company, the pieces are gracefully modelled shapes and highly finished." |
