Description |
An example of Roseville Pottery Company's Rozane Royal (Dark) line introduced in 1901, this large vase, shape number 863-21", was converted into a lamp base after manufacture. The rim was removed, and the vessel's underside was drilled to accommodate electrical wires. The front of the vase is beautifully decorated with a portrait of fictional Shakespearean character Sir John Falstaff. The character's lively features are captured by decorator Arthur William. |
