Description |
An example from Weller Pottery Company's LaSa line introduced circa 1920, this uniquely-sized rose and gold vase features an iridescent overglaze designed by John B. Lessell (1867-1926) and pine tree decorations. Costly and challenging to produce, LaSa pieces required six firings at high temperatures. Authors have suggested that during the third stage in the process, liquid gold was applied before the piece was fired. |
