Description |
The American Limoges China Company (1887-1955), formerly Sterling China, was established in 1887 in East Liverpool, Ohio. Looking for more space, they moved to Sebring, Ohio in 1900 and operated under the name Limoges China Company. They used this name until threatened with a lawsuit from the Limoges China Company in France, at which time they changed their name to the American Limoges China Company. This plate is an example of the Manhattan line designed by Victor Schreckengost (1906-2008). The simple, modern forms were created for transfer-printed decoration, allowing for new designs each year. |
