Description |
An example from Roseville Pottery Company's Decorated Landscape line introduced in 1907 and likely designed by Frederick Hurten Rhead (1880-1942), this large jardinière, shape number 456, is hand decorated using squeeze bag and sgraffito techniques. The design is inspired by Art Nouveau and Japonisme styles popular in ceramics during the early twentieth century and characterized by the stylized landscape motifs. |
