Description |
This stately vase is an example of Roseville Pottery Company's Pauleo line introduced circa 1914. Decorated in a wonderful blue and purple crackle glaze that was made to replicate the spirit of Chinese glazes including Flambé, an iridescent glaze that combines blue, purple, and red, this vase, shape number 447-14", was placed on permanent loan to the ZMA by Mrs. Robert P. Windisch (née, Georgianna Clement). She was not only the daughter of Fenwick Clement, the former President of Roseville Pottery Company, Mrs. Windisch was the wife of another Roseville Pottery Company President, Mr. Robert P Windisch. |
