Description |
An example from Weller Pottery Company's LaSa line introduced circa 1920, this rose and gold vase features an iridescent overglaze designed by John B. Lessell (1867-1926) and a landscape scene with an elk. Costly and challenging to produce, LaSa pieces required six firings at high temperatures. Authors have suggested that during the third stage in the process, liquid gold was applied before the piece was fired. |
