Description |
Villeroy & Boch (1836-Present) was founded in 1836 when two smaller pottery companies merged in Mettlach, Germany. Of the seven factories V&B had by the late 1800s, the one in Mettlach was the most famous, and even went by the name Mettlach. The Mettlach factory was known for its production of Chromolith wares. The makers mark featured on the underside of this piece is believed to have been used between 1842 and 1860. |
