The Zanesville Art Institute, known as the Zanesville Museum of Art, was originally located on Adair and Maple Avenues. The mansion, which was the former residence of Frank Perry Bailey (1843-1929) a city druggist, was purchased by Institute co-founder Edward Ayers. This work was donated to the museum by Ayers' children, Mrs. Charles Runkle (Josephine Ayers Runkle), Mrs. Russell Hay (Elizabeth Ayers Hay), and Mrs. Charles Gorsuch (Margaret Ayers Gorsuch). |
