Description |
The Chelsea Porcelain Manufactory was the first important porcelain company in England. Located just outside of London in 1750, Chelsea created porcelain tableware that was based on similar pieces manufactured at the German company Meissen. This fine plate dates from the Gold Anchor Period (circa 1756-69), which is named after the anchor maker's mark stamped in gold underglaze on the plate's underside. |
