Description |
An unusual example from the J.B. Owens Pottery Company's Utopian line introduced in 1896, this vase features underglaze slip painted decorations by pottery decorator James E. Hale (1854-1918). The portrait of an elderly woman is not a common image for the Utopian line or any J.B. Owens Pottery Company lines. |
