Description |
This sugar bowl and lid is attributed to Zanesville Glass Works (Circa 1815-1835) and was blown and molded from cobalt blue glass. Rough pontil marks appear on both the underside of the bowl and the top of the lid. Most of the glass produced in the early 19th century was bottles, flasks and other utilitarian ware. This rare, cobalt blue double-dome sugar bowl and lid shows the skill and craftsmanship of early glass blowers. |
