Description |
Gladding, McBean, and Company (1875-Present) produced a series of tableware and tile known as Franciscan Ceramics from 1934 to 1962. This is one of five unusual Franciscan decorative plates in the ZMA permanent collection hand decorated by Margo Findlay (Active Circa 1945) with exquisitely detailed bird imagery not associated with a specific Franciscan Ceramics line. Each plate is signed by Findlay on the front with a hand-written title on the back, sometimes accompanied by a related excerpt from a poem. |
