Description |
Sèvres Manufactory (1740-Present) was founded in 1740 in Vincennes, France but relocated to Sèvres in 1756. Frrench King Louis XV invested in the Sèvres Manufactory and turned it into the preeminent manufacturer of porcelain for the royal family and French aristocrats. Then in 1800, Alexandre Brongniart (1770-1847) took over factory administration and changed all aspects of production, including making the more popular neoclassical pieces during the 1800s. |
